Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow is the first time the franchise has been built around your actual body. You play Magpie, a street thief in a City still owned by Baron Northcrest, until a relic turns a survival hustle into a legacy problem.

The verbs are the old ones, done with hands: blackjack from behind, water arrows on torches, lockpicks you feel, pockets you lift, rooftops you climb. Light and sound still decide whether you are a rumour or a corpse. Multiple routes through each job mean you can ghost a manor or leave a trail, but the game is happiest when you are quiet.

Reception has been mixed on mission structure and AI, even among people who love the fantasy. Go in for the tactile thievery and the City’s mood, not for a flawless immersive-sim brain. On those terms it is still the stealth landmark of the last year on Quest.
